Wünsche, sprach sie, gibt es
nur, um die ich täglich fleh':
Ein kleines Häuschen auf der Flur und deine liebe
Näh'. |
It's just two wishes, she said,
I daily pray for:
A little house in the open fields and your closeness so
dear to me. |
Nun
liegt sie unterm Rasendach in Blumen eingehüllt.
So wurde ihr im Grabgemach ihr erster Wunsch erfüllt. |
She is now resting underneath
a roof of grass, wrapped in flowers.
Thus by her grave her first wish was granted. |
Nur
wenn mir hold der Himmel ist und meine Bitte hört,
so wird ihr wohl in kurzer Frist der zweite auch gewährt. |
If heaven smiles upon me and
hears my request,
She will be granted her second wish, too, ere long. |
